Terms of Service

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the CMNE app. By creating an account or using CMNE, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About CMNE

CMNE ("we," "us," "our," or the "Platform") is a marketplace and discovery platform that connects neighbors with local events. CMNE is a technology platform only — we do not organize, host, manage, or operate any events listed on the Platform. All events are created and managed independently by third-party hosts ("Hosts").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CMNE. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@cmne.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. User-Generated Content

CMNE allows users to post events, comments, photos, and reviews ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for any User Content you submit. By posting User Content, you represent that:

You grant CMNE a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display your User Content within the app for the purpose of operating the Platform.

CMNE does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any User Content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, at our sole discretion, without notice.

5. Events and Ticket Purchases

CMNE is a discovery and ticketing platform only. All events on CMNE are organized and operated by independent Hosts, not by CMNE. We are not a party to any transaction between Hosts and attendees.

For attendees: When you RSVP or purchase a ticket, you are entering into an agreement directly with the Host — not with CMNE. CMNE does not guarantee that any event will take place, that the event will be as described, or that you will receive a refund if an event is cancelled or modified.

For hosts: By posting a paid event, you agree that you are responsible for delivering the event as described, handling attendee disputes, and issuing refunds where appropriate. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws governing your event, including permits, venue capacity rules, alcohol licensing, and tax obligations.

Refunds: CMNE does not process refunds. All refund requests must be directed to the event Host. CMNE may, at its sole discretion, assist in facilitating communication between buyers and Hosts in dispute situations, but is not obligated to do so and bears no financial responsibility for any refund.

Cancellations: If a Host cancels an event, CMNE is not liable for any losses incurred by attendees, including but not limited to travel expenses, accommodation, or ticket costs.

6. Payments and Fees

Ticket payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. CMNE charges a 5% platform fee on ticket sales, deducted from the Host's payout. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.

CMNE is not responsible for failed payments, payment errors, or disputes between users and their financial institutions. Any billing disputes should be directed to Stripe or your card issuer.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use CMNE to:

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without notice or refund.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE CMNE APP AND ALL CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CMNE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any event listing, user review, or other content on the platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CMNE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM:

In no event shall CMNE's total liability to you for all claims exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to CMNE in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CMNE and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

11. Safety and Third-Party Events

CMNE does not screen, verify, or background-check event Hosts. Attendance at any event listed on CMNE is at your own risk. CMNE is not responsible for any injury, harm, loss, or damage that occurs at or in connection with any event listed on the Platform. You are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of any guests you bring to an event.

12. Intellectual Property

The CMNE name, logo, app design, and all original content created by CMNE are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from CMNE's proprietary content without our express written permission.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Sections 8, 9, 10, and 12 of these Terms survive termination.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CMNE shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court — except that either party may bring claims in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.

Class action waiver: You agree that any arbitration or legal proceeding will be conducted solely on an individual basis and not as a class, collective, or representative action. You waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit against CMNE.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CMNE after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, stop using the app.
